讲座嘉宾简介:
Binod Khadria is professor of economics at the Zakir Husain Centre for Educational Studies, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, and Project Director, International Migration and Diaspora Studies (IMDS) Project, sponsored by the Government of India. He is author of the book, The Migration of Knowledge Workers: Second-generation Effects of India's Brain Drain (Sage, 1999) and several research papers published by the ILO, OECD, GCIM, IRD (France), IDE-JETRO (Japan) etc. He has been a panelist in BBC and Harvard International Review world debates on migration. He has held visiting appointments at IDS, Sussex University (1983-85); as Fulbright Scholar at IED, Boston University (1995); School of Economics, Kwansei Gakuin University, Japan (2004), Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore (2005-07), School of Human Sciences, University of Rouen, France (2007), and the Graduate Institute, Geneva (2009). He is Deputy Chair (South Asia) and Regional Coordinator (India) at APMRN; and a member of Editorial Board of Asian and Pacific Migration Journal, International Advisory Committee of 3rd GFMD CSD at Athens (2009), Board of Directors of INMD at Zacatecas, and External Advisory Board for IOM’s World Migration Report 2010. In addition to an IMDS Working Paper Series, he has recently launched India Migration Report 2009, the first annual issue, distributed by the Cambridge University Press. Apart from international migration, his other interests are in economics of education, trade in services, and development studies.
