The School of Government Holds a Seminar for Young Teachers
In the afternoon of September 15th, a seminar for young teachers in the School of Government (SOG) was held in Room D203 of the Building of the School of Government on the East Campus of Sun Yat-sen University. A large number of faculty of the school attended the seminar, including Dean and Professor Tan Ankui, Party Secretary Luo Jing, Vice Dean and Professor Ye Lin, Assistant Dean and Professor Huang Dongya, Professor Wang Qiushi, Associate Professor Zhong Xiaohui, Associate Professor Zhang Xuefan, and a number of young teachers.

Dean Tan Ankui stated that the seminar had an aim to respond to the confusion in the career growth of the young colleagues and to assist them in understanding the relevant personnel work of the university with a higher degree of accuracy. He pointed out that the school hoped to create more advantageous conditions to encourage all young teachers to conduct mainstream research, produce more academic results with strong problem consciousness and significant academic contributions, and make clear academic plans.

Furthermore, Associate Professor Xiaohui Zhong, Associate Professor Xuefan Zhang, and Ms. Xinrong Ma also shared their work experiences. The participating teachers held a discussion concerning their academic experience, research field, academic results, and discipline development. President Tan Ankui said that the school will provide an increased level of detailed guidance in essential junctures, such as project application, recruitment, and appointment to assist young teachers in growing and building a platform for communication.


Young teachers are a critical part of the faculty of the school, and their growth is of tremendous significance to the construction and training of the discipline and talent of the school. The seminar provides a guiding light for the growth and academic research of young faculty and shows the support and care of the school for them. The school will continue to pay attention to the personal and professional development of young teachers, optimize the mechanism of teaching faculty construction, and carry out a series of activities for their continued growth.
