【摘要】the lecture will explore the meaning of legitimacy at the international level, including in the context of international law, and the challenges faced by international legitimacy in the years ahead.

【嘉宾介绍】

Jean-Marc Coicaud joined Rutgers University in the fall of 2011. He is Professor of Law and Global Affairs, Rutgers School of Law. In 2015 Dr. Coicaud was elected a member to the European Academy of Sciences (Academia Europaea).He is also a Global Ethics Fellow with the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs.

Dr. Coicaud holds a Ph.D. in Political Science-Law from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and a Doctoratd’?tat in Legal and Political Theory from the Institutd’?tudesPolitiques of Paris. He was an Arthur Sachs Scholar at Harvard University. Coicaud also holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in philosophy, literature and linguistics.

Jean-Marc Coicaud has published 15 books (single-authored, co-authored and co-edited) and close to 100 chapters and articles in the fields of legal and political theory, international law, international relations, and comparative politics.
