2019年2月《粤港澳大湾区发展规划纲要》的颁布标志着粤港澳大湾区建设进入一个由国家规划带动、各方深度合作的全面实施新时代。粤港澳大湾区旨在建设世界一流、充满活力的世界级城市群、具有全球影响力的科技创新中心、“一带一路”建设的重要支撑、内地与港澳深度合作示范区、宜居、宜业、宜游的优质生活圈。没有世界一流的大学就没有世界一流的湾区，粤港澳大湾区建设必须充分发挥大学的角色与作用，深入开展国际国内教育科技深度合作。粤港澳三地大学办学体制机制及文化价值存在差异，如何在湾区建设中加强合作，形成推动湾区建设发展的合力，是一个重大的理论与实践问题。

       8722太阳集团将于2019年11月29-30日举办8722太阳集团第二届粤港澳大大湾区高等教育国际学术论坛暨“高等教育、区域创新与经济增长（HE-RI-EG）：粤港澳大湾区建设中大学的角色与作用2019年学术研讨会”，来自内地、港澳及其它国家的高等教育研究及社会科学各领域专家学者将围绕“一流湾区与大学使命”问题展开研讨，共同开展三地高等教育在人才培养、科学研究、创新创业、文化引领、社会服务、国际经验等方面具有前瞻性、预判性、时政性、创新性的研究， 为湾区高等教育发展的决策者、研究者搭建经验交流与学术对话的平台，为政府部门提供有价值的决策咨询报告，全面服务于粤港澳大湾区建设。会议得到了中国科学院、教育部及广东省相关部门的大力支持。现将会议相关事宜通知如下：

The Second Guangdong-Hongkong-Macao Great Bay Area（GHKM-GBA） International Higher Education Forum: The Roles and Functions of the Universities in the Construction of GHKM-GBA

Background:

The promulgation of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay Area(GHKM-GBA) Development Plan in February 2019 marks that the construction of GHKM-GBA has entered a new era of comprehensive implementation driven by national planning and deep cooperation among all parties. GHKM-GBA aims to build a vibrant world-class city cluster, a globally influential science and technology innovation center, an important support for the construction of 'One Belt and One Road' Initiatives, a deep cooperation area among the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, and a high-quality living circle suitable for residing, business and touring. Without a world-class university, there will be no world-class Bay Area. The construction of GHKM-GBA needs the university to give full play to its roles and functions and needs the in-depth cooperation in international and domestic education and technology. There are many differences in the institutional mechanisms and cultural values of the higher education in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. How for the universities to strengthen cooperation in the construction of the Bay Area and form a synergy to promote the construction and development of the Bay Area is a major theoretical and practical issue.

Sun Yat-Sen University will hold the 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay Area International Higher Education Forum and the 2019 academic conference on Higher Education, Regional Innovation and Economy Growth(HE-RI-EG): The Roles and Functions of the Universities in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay Area’s Construction in Guangzhou from November 29 to December 1, 2019. Experts and scholars from the Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and other countries in higher education research and social sciences will discuss the issue of “First-class Bay Area and University Mission”. Conducting forward-looking, prejudging, political, and innovative research in the fields of talent training, scientific research, innovation and entrepreneurship, cultural leadership, social services and international experience in the universities of  international bay, that is, New York Bay, Boston Bay, San Francisco Bay and Tokyo Bay, which aims to Build a platform for the researchers to exchange experiences and academic dialogue, provide with valuable decision-making consultation reports for the government departments, and fully serve the construction of GHKM-GBA. The conference received the strong support from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Education and relevant departments of Guangdong Province.
